A quick blast out from home on the old bike that Ive rebuilt to check everything was working before useing it for work and only getting half way and something falls off.
I went down the nicky line keeping a good speed until it crosses under the motorway when its all blocked off with no divertion route marked lucky I know the area.
The next interesting part of the route is going past the pikey camp (sorry if thats not politicaly correct) seams like the kids have a new sport of ambushing cyclists using the cycle route. Logs and sticks across the path then as you slow down they try and shove a stick in your wheel such nice children.
I made it down the harpenden unharmed and turned round for the return journey back passed the pikey camp , no trying to put sticks in wheels this time they just threw them at me! Cycle helmets not just for when you fall off they are good for getting past pikey camps when kids are on the rampage (think i should take a jousting pole next time).

An interesting evening ride
